On July 28, 2025, innovation hubs from Hong Kong and Indonesia came together for the Hong Kong–Indonesia TechBridge Forum, a collaborative initiative by NAMI (Nano and Advanced Materials Institute), Cyberport Hong Kong, and Opus Solutions. The forum aimed to strengthen cross-border collaboration in technology innovation, intellectual property licensing, advanced manufacturing, and tech incubation.
This exclusive virtual forum showcased the shared vision of building a seamless innovation corridor between Hong Kong technology ecosystem with Indonesia businesses and economy, helping businesses in both regions leverage one another’s strengths.




The agenda focused on NAMI’s IP licensing opportunities, enabling Indonesian businesses and researchers to commercialise cutting-edge material technologies developed in Hong Kong. Discussion on joint R&D projects, partially funded by the HK government via NAMI, offering co-development pathways. In addition, topics covering NAMI’s manufacturing network was a key point of the forum, opening doors for Indonesian firms seeking rapid prototyping and production scale-up. Cyberport’s tech infrastructure was also discussed with their robust ecosystem of over 2000+ startups, regarding the incubator programs and support for digital entrepreneurs with funding, mentorship, and international exposure, especially in Indonesia.
The forum brought together speakers from varying background to provide the audience with a multifaceted perspective on the future of technology and integrations into new markets. Featured distinguished lineup of speakers including:
Prof. Hon. William Wong Kam-fai, MH, Associate Dean at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, who spoke about the role of academia in shaping regional innovation policy.
Eric Chan, Chief Public Mission Officer of Cyberport, who discussed Cyberport’s commitment to nurturing startups and supporting international collaboration.
Andy Fung, CEO of NAMI, who outlined opportunities for cross-border R&D and the commercialization of nanotechnologies.
Dennis Tedja, CEO of Opus Solutions and Cyberport Ambassador, who shared a private sector perspective on expanding tech ventures across ASEAN.
Together, the speakers emphasized the importance of regional innovation alliances in addressing today’s global challenges—ranging from sustainable infrastructure to digital transformation.
